Missy RTW Mood Board
for Emilia Wickstead A/W '21
The aim of this assignment is to create a mood-board for A/W 2021 of a category randomly chosen by the class instructor - Missy RTW. Synthesize all of the forecasting trend research and integrate the brands identity throughout the mood board and design statement. This should be created in any Adobe program — Illustrator, Photoshop, and InDesign.
Inspired by high contrast, bold, and bright summer color trends that were taking a backseat in 2020-21 summers. This collection is a completion of my perspective on colorful winter staple pieces for missy RTW. The classic minimalist trend that is being forecasted for S/S 2021 and concepts from Emilia Wickstead’s fall 2021 season.
I used a bold color-palette of Latigo Bay, Rhubarb, Baroque Rose, Cadmium Yellow, and Old Gold to pull it all together and make it feel fresh and exciting.
Through the process of designing this collection, I thought about how missy trends tend to be very classic, with simple and basic silhouettes with neutral, dull, and dark tones, and rarely some colors. Therefore, I chose to integrate bold and bright colors with classic designs to create a more fun, yet classic RTW collection.
